Our History

Our History

Community Bible Fellowship began in the fall of 1993 with just a handful of people who met for prayer, seeking God’s direction for their lives and how they might better reach their community with the gospel of Jesus Christ, as well as having a desire to follow a biblical pattern for worship and ministry. In early 1994 Community Bible Fellowship began meeting at Minter Elementary School and we were incorporated as a church.

Our name was chosen to embrace community, biblical teaching and warm fellowship. From the beginning, CBF has been known for the expository teaching and preaching of the Word of God, as well as a strong outreach to youth. Many of our families followed their teens who attended CBF before their parents.

In August of 2009 we moved to Gig Harbor and met in a building that was available off of Hunt Street. While we were hoping to purchase this facility, the Lord had other plans. We are now meeting in Lighthouse Christian School. We are very excited as we look ahead with anticipation at what God has for us as we partner with Lighthouse!
